The Chic Models team would like to wish you a happy March and would love for you to get to know our newest Model of the Month, Abigail Joy. Abigail has been a Floridian her whole life, growing up in Roseland and now calling Orlando her home. She is also looking to get a second place in NYC because she is frequently there on castings through her New York agents.
Abigail has been in the industry for over 7 years. It all started when she was trying to figure out what she wanted to do when she grew up? The million-dollar question for a teenager. She was working at Publix Supermarket, and customers kept telling her she should be a model. She did love fashion, make-up, being photographed, and taking pictures of herself (growing up in the social media era, she is a true millennial.) So, she decided to take the leap, traveled to Orlando, and signed with her first agency just before her 18th birthday. While still booking jobs and auditioning, she got her AA degree. But, while trying to figure out what to do next with school, she realized she was already doing what she loved.
Some of her favorite clients to work for have been Porsche, Ferrari, Nick Arrojo (former stylist on TLC’s ‘What Not to Wear’) and Kanye West. She did a really cool art installation for Kanye, where she and the other models were covered from head to toe in only clay. The wild things models are asked to do!
Abigail’s goals are to continue to work as a model, do editorials, and grow her portfolio, working with photographers with a great eye for taking beautiful, quality pictures. Well, we wish this Florida girl all the best!!!
